Fans are looking forward to Young and Hungry season 6 because they want to know Josh’s reaction to Gabi’s proposal. Gabi and Josh have reunited in Season 5 of the show after a lengthy apart. The season ended in suspense, with Gabi proposing to Josh, but fans didn’t get to hear his reaction in that season.
Young And Hungry, a genre-bending sitcom, has been on the air for five seasons; might fans expect a sixth? Young And Hungry first aired on Freeform (previously ABC Family) in 2014. Gabi Moskowitz is David Hoiden’s romance series Young and Hungry subject. The sitcom, set in San Francisco, was inspired by food blogger Gabi Moskowitz of BrokeAss Gourmet and stars Emily Osment as Gabi Diamond, a passionate foodie who accepts a private chef for wealthy tech entrepreneur Josh Kaminski.
Gabi and Josh’s professional relationship is impeded by their evident attraction to each other and their drunken one-night stand. The adorable couple had sporadic romance throughout the next several years of Young And Hungry until finally getting together at the end of season 5’s first half. Following a year hiatus, Freeform aired the second half of Season 5 in 2018, which ended on a cliffhanger with Gabi proposing to Josh and asking him to go to Seattle with her.
Young And Hungry were canceled by Freeform in March 2018, before the last ten episodes aired. The show’s cancellation was probably all but inevitable during the year between seasons 5A and 5B. However, according to actress Emily Osment, the whole team and ensemble were confident that Young And Hungry Season 6 was already in the works, and the season-ending tension would undoubtedly suggest it as well. The actual reason for the discontinuation of Sitcom Season 6 is still unclear.
“We wanted to do another season, and we couldn’t,” said the show’s director, David Holden, in an interview. Hopefully, we’ll be able to wrap things up neatly. It would be fantastic if a film could please all of our fans. We have finished a rough draft of the content for them. I suppose it will be shown on Freeform. This is out of my hands.
Instead of season 6 of Young And Hungry, Freeform said a sequel film was in the works. According to the network, the Young And Hungry movie was planned to wrap up what transpired in the comedy’s fifth season and “continue the exploits of Gabi, Josh, and their gang of mates.”
However, the film was also scrapped, as Osment disclosed on Twitter. As a result, the Season 5 finale mystery remains unsolved, although Osment intimated in a tweet that the film would almost certainly see Gabi and Josh married.
After Freeform canceled Season 6 of Young And Hungry and the TV movie, fans urged Netflix to save the show. The streaming behemoth felt like an appropriate target since Netflix has resurrected several fronts, including Lucifer and Arrested Development. Unfortunately, Netflix did not answer, and it is safe to infer that Young And Hungry season 6 will not occur.
