In a viral TikTok video, LAROI claims that Scooter Braun was his “latest mistake.”
With an eye-catching TikTok, Kid LAROI is promoting his new tune “Thousand Miles.”
On Wednesday (April 13), the Grammy-nominated artist took to TikTok to ask his fans to share their “final mistake” to the tune of his new song, “Here goes another mistake I know I’m going to make/ I know I’m going to make tonight/ And I will never change.”
What, according to LAROI’s video, was his blunder? Fans were perplexed as to whether the TikTok was legitimate when photos of celebrity music manager Scooter Braun flashed across the screen. One remark reads, “The way I can’t tell if this is a joke or not.”
In June 2021, LAROI joined with Braun’s SB Projects before departing in September to join Adam Leber’s Rebel Management. LAROI’s Billboard Hot 100-topping “Stay” collaboration with Justin Bieber, another Braun client, was released prior to the breakup.
Is LAROI implying in the new TikTok that quitting Braun or working with him in the first place was his “final mistake”? Some Swifties speculated that the 18-year-old star was supporting Taylor Swift’s public smear campaign against Braun. In the comments, one admirer wrote, “Welcome to the Taylor Swift team.”
In Billboard’s October cover story about The Kid LAROI, Braun had nothing but good things to say about his former client. For the article, Braun said, “LAROI is a brilliant artist, and I wish him and his family nothing but the best.” “I’m proud of our unprecedented accomplishment in our short time together – I’m always rooting for him, and he knows it.”
Braun’s team has been contacted by Billboard for comment on the new TikTok.
