A sixth and final season of ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ has been ordered by Hulu.
In anticipation of the debut of Season 5 on Hulu, “The Handmaid’s Tale” has been given a renewal for a sixth and final season.
“The Handmaid’s Tale,” which stars Elisabeth Moss and was adapted from a classic novel written by Margaret Atwood, will kick off its fifth and penultimate season with a two-part premiere on September 14.
According to Hulu, the premise of the fifth season is that June will “face penalties for killing Commander Waterford while attempting to rebuild her identity and purpose.” “As the influence of Gilead spreads into Canada, the recently bereaved Serena makes an effort to advance her career in Toronto. Nick and Aunt Lydia are two of Commander Lawrence’s closest allies as he strives to rebuild Gilead and ascend the political ranks. While continuing their effort to save Hannah and get back together with her, June, Luke, and Moira attack Gilead from a distance.
The creator of “The Handmaid’s Tale,” a television series that has won a total of 15 Emmys, including the award for best drama in 2017, is Bruce Miller. Miller is currently working on “The Testaments,” a follow-up to “The Handmaid’s Tale” that picks up the story years later for the streaming service Hulu.
Elisabeth Moss, Bradley Whitford, Yvonne Strahovski, Max Minghella, O-T Fagbenle, Samira Wiley, Ann Dowd, Madeline Brewer, Amanda Brugel, and Sam Jaeger are among the actors featured in the fifth season of “The Handmaid’s Tale.”
Miller, Warren Littlefield, Moss, Daniel Wilson, Fran Sears, Eric Tuchman, Yahlin Chang, Rachel Shukert, Sheila Hockin, John Weber, Frank Siracusa, Steve Stark, and Kim Todd are the executive producers of the series. Other executive producers include Sheila Hockin, Eric Tuchman, and Yahlin Chang.
MGM Television is the company that is responsible for producing and distributing “The Handmaid’s Tale” abroad.
