Over the years, Cartoon Network has hosted a variety of intriguing projects, but its midnight block of episodes under the Adult Swim label seem to be legendary. Notably, the science fiction series Rick and Morty by Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland, which has been on television for five seasons, is debatably one of the best on television thanks to a stellar voice-over cast and outstanding writing. Rick and Morty, which has a devoted fan base and a cult following, been renewed for a sixth season, which will premiere in September. There now seems to be a brand-new season 6 teaser on YouTube, which teases an upcoming special episode.
The Wormageddon: MEXICO CITY teaser for Rick and Morty season 6 was uploaded to Adult Swim’s official YouTube account. The trailer is designed for a living episode that will air as part of Adult Swim’s season 6 premiere on September 4. This marks another step in many shows’ transformation into more immersive experiences that allow fans to engage with their favourite material. Since 14 pop-art scenes will be specially created and unveiled in 14 different locations across the world, this episode will be a global event for fans of the show, according to ComicBook.com. The commercial event will have statues dressed to resemble combating cede worms, just like the one in the YouTube video. The one in the teaser, which features Beth Smith and Supernova battling cede worms, is in the Casa de Cultura Jesus Reyes Heroles in Mexico City, Mexico. It is nearly 13 feet tall.
According to Gizmodo, the sculptures in question will be built on every continents except Antarctica to promote Rick and Morty season 6. To the joy of many of the show’s fans, each of these monuments will gradually be unveiled leading up to the season 6 premiere. It’s a promotional activity that might seem odd to viewers who are unfamiliar with the show, but for Rick and Morty, it’s just another adventure in their intergalactic travels. Bleeding Cool appears to be on the case with real-time information for anyone curious to monitor the whereabouts of the sculptures and teaser trailers that Rick and Morty are surprising fans with.
After co-creator Dan Harmon left his NBC sitcom Community, which featured Joel McHale, Alison Brie, and Donald Glover, Rick and Morty made its initial appearance on Adult Swim in 2013. The programme has since been nominated for numerous awards and has won two Primetime Emmys for Outstanding Animated Program. Now that Rick and Morty is into its sixth season, the sitcom doesn’t seem to be coming to an end anytime soon. The series now has a 94% Tomatometer score overall on Rotten Tomatoes, with an average Audience Score of 87%. Stars of the cartoon programme include Kari Wahlgren, Chris Parnell from Saturday Night Live, Spencer Grammer, Sarah Chalke from How I Met Your Mother, and co-creator Justin Roiland.
