‘Physical’ Renewed For Season 3 At Apple TV+

Physical, a dark comedy, will make another appearance. A third season of the half-hour dramedy with Rose Byrne as executive producer and the show’s lead has been renewed, according to Apple TV+.

Physical is a television series created, written, and executive produced by Annie Weisman. It centres on Sheila (Bryne), a bulimic lady in the early 1980s who starts to transition from housewife to aerobics video star as a result of her husband’s campaign for a local San Diego office. Sheila develops into someone we take for granted now but was utterly innovative at the time — the female lifestyle expert. The series follows her dramatic journey from a constrained, unrecognised facilitator to a strong, self-assured economic force.

After successfully releasing her first fitness video in season 2, Sheila ran across some new, more difficult challenges. She is divided between danger-filled desire to someone else and devotion to her spouse (Rory Scovel) and the ideals he upholds.

In Season 2, Murray Bartlett appeared with Scovel, Dierdre Friel, and Paul Sparks.

The chance to continue Sheila’s tale in creative cooperation with Rose Byrne and the rest of our amazing actors, writers, and crew makes me ecstatic. The show’s path of personal empowerment and development in 80s Southern California in all its synth-pop, sun-baked, spandex-clad splendour is guided by Rose’s magnificent, humorous, and fearless performance, according to creator and showrunner Weisman. The comments we’ve had from viewers who keep discovering Physical and feeling seen by it is the most profoundly satisfying experience of my career, and I’m so grateful to our team at Apple and Tomorrow Studios for making this idea a reality.

Tomorrow Studios, a collaboration with ITV Studios, is the producer of Physical. Weisman is the showrunner as well as the creator, writer, and executive producer of the series. For Tomorrow Studios, Craig Gillespie, and Byrne, Stephanie Laing both directs and acts as executive producer with Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements. Co-executive producer Alissa Bachner works on the project.
