According to series star Antony Starr, filming for The Boys Season 4 has (already) started. While Season 1 of The Boys (2018–2019) was still being shot, Starr (who portrays the psychotic superman character Homelander) posted a picture of the cast with the caption, “The Boys.” “first season. A long time ago. We are now starting season four:) “. The original members of “The Seven” superteam can be seen in the vintage image, from left to right: Black Noir (Nathan Mitchell), Homelander (Starr), Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott), A-Train (Jessie T. Usher), Starlight (Erin Moriarty), the Deep (Chace Crawford), and Translucent (Alex Hassell).
Of course, by now, we know that in The Boys TV series, all seven of The Seven don’t really last that long: Being given the honor (?) of being Hughie Campbell‘s (Jack Quaid) first “supe” kill after his girlfriend Robin was turned into a street smear by A-Train, Translucent was the first to perish. Things became fractious after Starlight entered the picture because the Deep attacked Annie indecently and was expelled from the ship; Maeve lost her cool after giving in to Homelander and allowing an entire plane full of passengers to perish; and A-Train eventually suffered a super-sized heart attack as a result of his abuse of Compound V. Wow, it seems like a very long time ago!
(SPOILERS) The Boys Season 3 saw a decrease in the availability of this tiny “class photo” of The Seven. When Maeve and Homelander finally got together, Maeve was maimed (one eye gone!) and pretended to die, but Vought executive Ashley (Colby Minifie) is aware that she is still alive. Homelander tore Black Noir’s guts for never telling him he was cloned from Cold War-era super-soldier, Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles). A-Train and Deep both received super-hearts, returned to the game, and are now at the mercy of an even more deranged and domineering Homelander. Although the team is unaware that Butcher (Karl Urban) is living on short term after abusing the Temp V compound too many times, Annie fully defected to The Boys with Hughie.
The Season 3 cliffhanger, in which Homelander’s son Ryan finally accepted his place by his father’s side, was the most unexpected. Ryan might end up being the biggest threat to The Boys’ future given that Homelander was able to get away with murder in front of a cult-like crowd of supporters.
