With its beautifully written and charmingly designed graphic book, Heartstopper has taken the globe by storm. And now it’s taking on a new incarnation in the shape of a Netflix series that (believe us) is every bit as impressive as the original. As this narrative unfolds, expect to witness Nick and Charlie rediscover love for the first time.
But, if you’re anything like us, you’ve already noticed how short the first season of the programme is. Isn’t there supposed to be more? So, we’re on your side and did some research to see whether there would be more Heartstopper in the future.
Here’s all we know about season 2 of Heartstopper.
While we understand your want to see more of Nick and Charlie on your television, Netflix has yet to make a decision on a possible second season. This means you’ll need to alert all of your pals to tune in for round one as soon as possible. The more views a programme has, the more likely it is to be renewed by Netflix!
The first season of the show covered volumes 1 and 2 of the graphic book series, therefore it’s reasonable to assume that season 2 will start with volume 3. The official summary for the third book is as follows:
“Charlie had doubts that Nick would ever like him back, but they’re now boyfriends. Nick has even got the guts to tell his mother that he is gay. But coming out isn’t easy, and Nick and Charlie are trying to decide out when to tell their pals they’re dating. Keeping their secret from their friends becomes much more difficult on a school trip to Paris. Nick and Charlie will need each other more than ever as their emotions become more serious.”
You can always pick up the series, which has a fourth book out now and a fifth and final volume coming later this year, if you can’t wait any longer.
Hopefully, this will happen shortly. When it comes to renewals, though, Netflix hasn’t exactly been on time. Your estimate is as good as ours, but we’re aiming for a quick turnaround so it can go into production.
